Our standard size, Four Way Scapular medal is extremely unique, in that it includes the St Benedict Medal along with the Sacred Heart, Miraculous and St Joseph. This is what makes this Four Way Scapular Medal one of the most popular - four medals in one place. In 1910, Pope St. Pius X introduced a Scapular Medal which may be substituted in most cases for any of the various scapulars. Valid enrollment in the (cloth) scapulars must, however, be made before the substitution. That is why we include a traditional brown, cloth scapular to use for investiture, along with a "Brown Scapular Blessing Card"

"Dog tags" is an informal term for the identification tags worn by military personnel, because of their resemblance to animal registration tags. The tags are primarily used for the identification of dead and wounded soldiers. In a sense, the Scapular Medal is our "Catholic Dog Tag". The Brown Scapular, revealed to St. Simon Stock in 1251, was a way for us, upon our death, to be identified as a child of God. Our Lady of Mt. Carmel said, “This will be the sign of the privilege that I have obtained for thee and for the children of Carmel; whoever dies clothes with this habit will be preserved from the eternal flames.” Wearing this is an “act of obedience”. This is our willingness to do it God’s way, even if that way is something the world may find foolish. Things like twiddling rosary beads. God has worked this way right from the beginning, when He said to Adam and Eve, “All but that one apple tree”.

I wear the scapular and the Miraculous Medal daily, and I was looking for cross to wear as well. The 4-Way Scapular Medal is the perfect solution that accommodates all these sacramentals! Thank you!

Love that this combine’s many scapulars into one. The cross & image’s are well done, it’s not heavy, be aware though that the chain is not fine silver it’s more like a “dog tag” type chain & fairly long for a woman. Also note that this is a very basic chain & medal so if you’re looking for a fancy medal this isn’t it but beautiful nonetheless. And no it won’t really go with that dressy outfit but I wear it anyway or carry it with me at all time’s. Also it would be beneficial if the product picture showed the reverse side because until you actually have one you wouldn’t necessarily know there are images on the back & what they look like. All in all this is a wonderful product & I highly recommend it, love mine!
